APT Cruising and Aled Jones MBE have partnered for an exclusive experience aboard Travelmarvel Capella, the newest addition to the cruise lines fleet. Jones will join guests during a 7-night cruise, Legends of the Rhine & Moselle, which departs on the 16th of April 2021. Here, we chat with him about his unique partnership with APT and what guests can expect to find on board:
Hi Aled! Are you able to tell us a bit about your unique partnership with APT Cruising?
Getting to know the APT team has been fun, they are brilliant to work with and I have been so impressed by how they operate. With more than 90 years of experience, I know they will offer an unforgettable cruise for their guests and I’m delighted to be part of that experience - combining my performance with their Signature Experiences.
What can guests look forward to when they cruise with you next spring?
Guests joining me next year are in for a treat, as the ship is elegant in size, I will be around for photos and chats during my stay. Plus, I’ll be hosting VIP dinners and, of course, topping off the experience with a one-off private concert in Cologne - in the most stunning venue.
You’re going to be joining the Legends of the Rhine & Moselle voyage - which destinations are you looking forward to visiting?
It’s hard to pick just one spot, one of my favourite things about river cruising is the chance to stop in the centre of so many different towns and villages and get a feel for local life. Germany has a special place in my heart, as I have spent many years travelling to the country to perform ever since I was a young boy - in fact, Cologne was one of my first choir trips aboard.
You’ll be joining guests on APT’s new contemporary river ship, Travelmarvel Capella. What are you looking forward to experiencing onboard?
I’ve seen photos of the new ship and it just looks fantastic; I’m looking forward to relaxing in the beautiful lounge. A chance to sit and chat with guests surrounded by panoramic views of the river, enjoy delicious food and stay in modern luxury - what more could you ask for?
Why do you think guests should embark on an APT river cruise?
APT offers so much as part of their trip; beautiful accommodation, exclusive experiences and top-notch cuisine. With so much to offer, it’s no surprise their guests have been coming back for many years, they clearly know how to take care of them.

How do you think guests can make the most of their cruise experience?
Make the most of your surroundings. Aboard the new ship, you have so many fantastic features to choose from; the alfresco lounge, an open-air whirlpool, the sun terrace and ‘pub-style’ McGerays Bar - enjoy all the spaces. And once you step off the ship, you are in the heart of some fantastic towns and villages - take in the fairytale surroundings of Cochem in the Moselle Valley, for example, it is not to be missed.
From ocean cruises to river cruises, we know that you have experienced them all. What are your favourite things about cruising?
I have taken plenty of cruises but river cruises are definitely top of the list. You’re so close to shore at all times - there’s always lots to take in. And when you do dock, you’re in the heart of the action giving you the chance to explore easily on your feet.
