The best time to cruise to the Canary Islands

A month-by-month guide on the best time to visit the Canary Islands

Published on 25 Aug 2023

Though their proximity and climate - particularly their warm winters - make them a readily accessible tourist destination, the Canary Islands have more to offer than meets the eye. To experience year-round sunshine, we’ve created a month-by-month guide on the best time to visit to help you plan your Canary Islands cruise to perfection.

When is the best time to visit the Canary Islands?

The best time to cruise to the captivating Canary Islands is during the transitional months of spring and autumn. From April to June and September to November, the islands bask in splendid weather that strikes a harmonious balance between the gentle warmth of summer and the comfortable coolness of winter.

During these periods, the archipelago enjoys temperatures ranging from 20°C to 28°C, creating an idyllic environment for exploration and relaxation. The skies are generally clear, granting you the opportunity to savour the islands’ breathtaking landscapes, whether it’s the lunar-like terrain of Lanzarote or the lush forests of La Gomera.

Moreover, cruising during these off-peak seasons offers the added advantage of fewer crowds. You can relish in the charms of the Canary Islands’ picturesque towns, vibrant markets and stunning beaches without the hustle and bustle of the pearl summer months.
