A complete guide to Celebrity Cruises kids programme
Published on 31 Jul 2024
Planning the perfect holiday that caters for the entire family can certainly feel like a tricky task. It’s often difficult to plan a trip that ensures both children and teenagers are kept entertained with engaging and stimulating activities while adults are free to relax and unwind in style. With well-established kids clubs and youth activity programmes, plus an abundance of activities for adults to enjoy, a family-friendly cruise with Celebrity Cruises could be the solution you’ve been searching for.
Camp at Sea, Celebrity Cruises kids club, offers unforgettable experiences and activities for children aged three to seventeen. Promising a ‘fun’ and ‘enriching’ family cruise experience, Celebrity Cruises pride themselves on never offering the same camp twice as their kids club schedule changes every sailing depending on the interests of the young cruisers on board. Divided into various age-appropriate groups to ensure that everyone is catered for, adventure awaits for young people on a Celebrity cruise.
For ages three to five
Fully potty-trained children aged between three and five years old are welcome to be enrolled as Shipmates in the Camp at Sea programme. You can rest assured that the experienced youth staff will supervise your child, or children, as they nurture their artistic skills at the Creation Station and create precious souvenirs to keep as a memento of the trip, join in with fun sing-a-longs and make new friends.
For ages six to nine
Young cruisers from the ages of six to nine will have the opportunity to join Camp at Sea as Cadets. This one-of-a-kind nautical programme teaches children the basics of sailing including navigation, time, weather patterns and so much more. There are also plenty of other engaging activities spread throughout various venues on the ship. From exciting Lawn Club games to campouts and movie nights, there is so much for Cadets to enjoy.
For ages ten to twelve
Older kids, aged between ten and twelve years old, are known as Captains in the Celebrity Cruises Camp at Sea programme. Unlike the younger children who are part of Camp at Sea, Captains are given a little more freedom on board. Captain cruisers will be given the opportunity to embark on a thrilling scavenger hunt or compete in a nail-biting sports or gaming tournament. Budding chefs will get the opportunity to show off their culinary skills with pizza making while others get stuck into STEM activities.
Teenagers are sometimes known for being a little harder to please than younger members of the family, but Celebrity Cruises has catered for everyone with their family-friendly entertainment options. Suitable for teenagers aged thirteen to seventeen, the Teen Club is a stylish space designed to be exclusively enjoyed by young adults. A fantastic place for young adults to hang out, socialise with other cruisers in their age group, and partake in fun, teen-focused activities overseen by a team of Teen Counsellors. Some of the most popular activities include culinary classes, sports competitions, video game tournaments and silent disco parties. Unlike younger children who are part of the Camp at Sea programme, teens have the option to come and go to the Teen Club as they please, giving them that much sought-after sense of freedom. So, if they’ve finished enjoying all of the activities on offer at the Teen Club, they’re free to take a dip in the pool or grab a bite to eat with new friends.
Camp at Sea is open daily from 9am to 10pm. There is also a Slumber Party option that is offered nightly on a sign-up basis.
Camp at Sea offers an extended programme for an additional fee. There is a Breakfast Pass session which runs from 7am to 9am, a Lunch Pass from 12pm to 2pm and a Dinner Pass from 5pm to 7pm. Each session includes a meal at the Oceanview Cafe. These services are not available on embarkation and debarkation day.
Celebrity Cruises kids club, Camp at Sea, welcomes children and teenagers between the ages of three and seventeen. It’s important to note that children must be fully potty-trained to participate.
The sign in rules vary depending on which age group your child is in. Children between the ages of three and nine must be signed in and out. Children between the ages of ten and twelve have more freedom to come and go as they please, but they will be required to sign themselves in and out. Young people from thirteen to seventeen are free to come and go as they please.
Toddler Time sessions are popular options for families with toddlers on board a Celebrity Cruise. The stay-and-play sessions allow parents and toddlers to interact with other families, take part in storytime and enjoy well-loved nursery rhymes.
