Ambience was the one that started it all for Ambassador Cruise Line. As the flagship of the fleet, she introduced new venues never seen at sea before. Her dining options are plentiful, from South Asian-inspired restaurants to casual dining buffets that cater to all. Here, we take a look at Ambience’s impressive range of dining options in more detail:
Located at the aft of Deck 7, Buckingham Restaurant is the main dining option onboard. You can head here for breakfast and lunch on an open-seating basis, whereas dinner is spread across two sittings, one for early birds and the other for late diners. On the menu, you can expect British favourites like fish and chips and cottage pie, and on formal nights (of which there are usually two during a seven-night sailing), you will be treated to an old-school Baked Alaska parade.
Located just outside Borough Market on Deck 12, Al Fresco Grill is the perfect place to go for a light bite. You can choose from pizza, hot dogs, burgers and chips. As it is situated on the Lido Deck, it’s an ideal spot for those wanting to indulge in a snack in between relaxing on a sun lounger and dipping in and out of the pool.
Borough Market is Ambience’s casual dining experience where flavours from around the world come together. The buffet-style restaurant is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner and serves British classics like fish and chips at the Salt & Vinegar station, Asian cuisine at the Points East station and vegan food at the Graze n Grains station. Scone lovers will be impressed to see afternoon tea served here daily with a choice of sandwiches, sweet and savoury scones and plenty of cakes.
Described by Ambassador Cruise Line as the ‘ultimate onboard culinary experience,’ Chef’s Table is a VIP multi-course dining experience specially created and hosted by the Executive Chef. Served in a private area of Buckingham Restaurant on Deck 7, the Chef’s Table experience begins with a glass of fizz and an amuse-bouche before heading down for a tour of the ship’s galley. The Chef’s Table hosts a minimum of 10 guests.
The menu at Saffron, meticulously handcrafted by Ambience’s Executive Chef, allows guests to discover and enjoy the tastes, sights and flavours of South Asia. The journey begins with an herb-infused cleansing drink, followed by a starter, a main and a dessert, which is usually served alongside chai tea. Throughout your meal, the Saffron team will talk you through each dish, how it was prepared and how best to enjoy it.
Located on Deck 12, Sea & Grass offers a tasting journey across seven impressive courses. This premium fine dining option is for surf and turf lovers who wish to feast on dishes such as smoked duck breast pastrami with dates and orange or grilled seabass with garlic shrimp. Sip on a perfectly paired wine as you watch the talented chefs prepare your food from the open kitchen.
