A spotlight on Vista’s impressive array of dining options
Published on 05 Jun 2023
Oceania Cruises and gourmet dining experiences go hand in hand. The cruise line boasts The Finest Cuisine at Sea®, after all. Vista, the newest ship in the fleet, reaches new pinnacles of creativity and diversity with an astounding array of dining options that range from informal to extravagant. Here, we place a spotlight on these impressive options:
Debuting on Vista, Ember is an inviting dining spot that combines inventive classic American creations and time-honoured classics. Serving lunch and dinner, the menu is a celebration of influences from the world’s greatest chefs including Oceania Cruises’ very own Executive Culinary Director, Jacques Pépin. Enjoy blackened crab cake, succulent steak and roasted apple tart.
A firm fleet favourite, Red Ginger combines Thai, Korean, Japanese and Malaysian-rooted specialities to create a mélange of spicy and soothing, savoury and sweet dishes to please virtually every palate. Begin with a spicy duck and watermelon salad, savour chicken shio ramen noodles for main and enjoy caramel tapioca with mango and ginger cookies for pudding.
The Grand Dining Room is the luxurious grand dame of Oceania Cruises’ culinary world. In a truly magnificent and inspired setting, guests can savour a leisurely dining experience. On Vista, a fresh new array of options bring even more exciting possibilities alongside staple continental dishes like grilled lamb chops, roasted guinea fowl, salmon supreme and Argentinian flank steak.
The Terrace Café is the ultimate informal dining experience. At breakfast, enjoy a seemingly never-ending selection of sumptuous savoury and sweet temptations. During lunch, be wowed by the expansive menu of internationally inspired-dishes. And in the evening, revel in the bounty of grilled-to-order lobster tails, fish, filets and steaks or freshly-made, hand-cut sushi and sashimi.
Another first for Vista, Aquamar Kitchen presents a decidedly fresh perspective on dining and the pursuit of wellness. Think indulgence without guilt. At breakfast, cold-pressed juices and energy bowls shine. At lunch, the avocado toast selections and globally-inspired salads and wraps are flavourful and satisfying and washed down with a beverage menu that features a selection of premium, award-winning non-alcoholic wines.
Casual, colourful and a little bit playful, Waves Grill serves up all-American favourites in a spacious shaded area steps away from the swimming pool. With an extensive menu serving up mouthwatering dishes at lunch and late into the afternoon, you can watch the Waves Grill chefs grill gourmet burgers, succulent seafood and sandwich esto order in the open galley.
Polo Grill delights diners with the ultimate classic steakhouse experience. Each course stands as the very definition of time-honoured favourites, most notably the beef dishes, all of which are 28-day dry-aged certified Black Angus USDA Prime. Succulent seafood dishes, like grilled swordfish and whole Maine lobster gratinée, are classics in their own right.
For fine authentic Italian fare, head to Toscana. Evolved from generational family traditions, many of Toscana’s recipes originate from the mothers and grandmothers of Ocenaia Cruises’ own Italian culinary staff. Like the fritto di calamari, lasagne alla bolognese al forno and costata di vitello alla milanese.
