Mighty Cruise Ships: The ships from the show

The cruise ships that have featured on documentary series, Mighty Cruise Ships

Published on 25 Jan 2021

Mighty Cruise Ships, the spin-off from the popular documentary, Mighty Ships, first aired in 2014. The series, of which there have been four, focuses on the most dynamic passenger vessels in the world. Over the years a number of our cruise line partners have been featured on Mighty Cruise Ships. From floating resorts to boutique hotels at sea here are our favourite ships:

Azamara Journey, Azamara

Azamara Journey was featured on the first series of Mighty Cruise Ships. Azamara Cruises’ mid-sized ship is intimate but never crowded and offers everything modern voyagers are looking for - plus some unexpected extras. She joined the fleet in 2007 and was last refurbished in 2016. The refurbishment saw Azamara Journey reimagined from bow to stern with each enhancement being inspired by beautiful landscapes, flowing waters and refreshing earth tones incorporated with a rich blend of modern and contemporary elements.

Celebrity Solstice, Celebrity Cruises

The spotlight was on Celebrity Solstice during episode 4 of the first series of Mighty Cruise Ships. Celebrity Cruises’ stylish ship inspired Solstice Class, a class of ships which have revolutionised the cruise industry. Designed with a tasteful and contemporary style, Celebrity Solstice is a ship of many firsts. You’ll feel lavished in luxury from the moment you step on board thanks to her welcoming amenities. And not forgetting the exciting new experiences, you can sail to Australia, New Zealand, Alaska and Hawaii aboard a ship that is a destination in itself.

Koningsdam, Holland America Line

Koningsdam is one of two Holland America Line ships that have been featured on Mighty Cruise Ships. One of the newer vessels to join the fleet, Koningsdam ushers in a new era of Pinnacle-class cruising. She carries forward the cruise line’s much-loved traditions, heritage and signature service while simultaneously raising the standard for modern cruising. Named after the first king of the Netherlands, MS Koningsdam is truly worthy of her royal namesake.

Marina, Oceania Cruises

The magnificent Marina appeared on series 3 of Mighty Cruise Ships. Evoking modern luxury and glamorous flair, Marina was the first new-build ship to join the Oceania Cruises fleet. She is the sister ship to Riviera, exuding splendour and grace as she cuts through the ocean waves. With 90% of all staterooms boasting a private veranda and an abundance of outdoor locations, you are guaranteed to feel the fresh sea air breezing through your hair as you sail away.

Regal Princess, Princess Cruises

Regal Princess joined the Princess Cruises fleet in 2013 demonstrating the next generation of innovative ships. She is the sister ship to Royal Princess and has some seriously impressive features including The SeaWalk, an over-the-ocean glass walkway that affords thrilling vistas of the ever-changing seascape. She also offers unparalleled inclusive dining options with a wide range of culinary delights to suit any palate. We’ll meet you by the buffet.

Seven Seas Explorer, Regent Seven Seas Cruises

Seven Seas Explorer, the ‘Most Luxurious Ship Ever Built.’ The ship, which joined the renowned luxury cruise line Regent Seven Seas Cruises in 2016, certainly lives up to her title. With an emphasis on fine dining and impeccable attention to detail, the decadence of Seven Seas Explorer is not to be underestimated. While on board, passengers will experience the utmost elegance and glamour from the very beginning of the journey to the very end.
