A round-up of the newest cruise ships to be unveiled

We love nothing more than hearing about new cruise ships. Luckily, many of our cruise line partners have brand new vessels on the horizon with impressive innovations, improved technology and even better itineraries. Though the events of 2020 put a pause on cruise ships sailing, cruise lines have been working hard behind the scenes to come back bigger and better than ever! Here’s a round-up of the cruise ships that should have launched in 2020 as well as a list of the new cruise ships for 2021 and 2022:

Maiden voyage: Monday 26th July 2021
Saga Cruises' second new build Spirit of Adventure will make her debut on Monday 26th July 2021. Sister-ship to Spirit of Discovery, Spirit of Adventure was set to sail in August 2020 but COVID-19 put her inaugural cruise on hold. Instead, she’ll be discovering the British Isles during a 13-night voyage, with calls at Kirkwall, Belfast and Falmouth.
Maiden voyage: Saturday 7th August 2021
Iona’s highly-anticipated maiden voyage was originally scheduled for May 2020. Sadly, COVID-19 restrictions delayed her first sailing but it has been rescheduled for Saturday 7th August 2021. The memorable voyage will sail guests around the British Isles. Departing from Southampton, Iona will journey to the breathtaking Scottish Isles offering spectacular views of the Isle of Mull, Sound of Jura, Isle of Arran and Fingal’s Cave.
Maiden voyage: Wednesday 10th November 2021
Enchanted Princess was due to embark on her maiden voyage in June 2020. The 3,660-passenger ship officially joined the Princess Cruises fleet in September 2020 but will not make her debut until November 2021. Her 10-night inaugural sailing will see her head off on a roundtrip from Fort Lauderdale with Stops at Princess Cays (the cruise lines’ private island, St. Thomas and Aruba.

The third Pinnacle Class ship to join the Holland America Line fleet (alongside Koningsdam and Nieuw Amsterdam), Rotterdam will feature elevated amenities and innovations. Music and live entertainment will sit at the centre of this beautiful ship with numerous venues to enjoy live jazz, blues and more. Incredible shows will take place at the 360-degree wraparound screen World Stage, where guests can enjoy classical strings, 50 years of chart hits at Billboard Onboard and BB King’s Blues Club at Music Walk.

The second ship to join Royal Caribbean’s Quantum-Ultra Class, Odyssey of the Seas will be the sister ship to Spectrum of the Seas. She will feature many of the same exciting facilities and activities as her sister with a few surprises thrown in too! Odyssey of the Seas will sail guests on a Far East adventure.

Silver Dawn is the 10th ultra-luxury ship to join the Silversea fleet. Both classic and modern, Silver Dawn is the natural evolution of the Silversea fleet. She inherits the best features of her sister ships Silver Muse and Silver Moonbut is in a class all of her own.

Maiden voyage: Friday 28th January 2022
The very first ship in the Emerald Yacht Cruises fleet, Emerald Azzurra will debut in January 2022. This spectacular superyacht will exceed your ocean cruising expectations. With only 100 guests on board, guests will experience an intimate yet relaxed atmosphere.

Wonder of the Seas will be the largest cruise ship in the world when she debuts in 2022. The fifth Oasis Class ship to join the Royal Caribbean fleet will sail in China. The cruise line has confirmed that Wonder of the Seas will include the same seven-neighbourhood style concept as her sister ships, Harmony of the Seas and Symphony of the Seas.
Maiden voyage: Tuesday 19th April 2022
The brand-new, purpose-built MV Lady Eleganza reveals the dreamy islands of Croatia’s coastline. With space for just 34 guests, she offers an intimate way to discover some of Europe’s most beautiful sights as she docks on the doorstep of each town, away from large cruise ships, with more time to explore.
Maiden voyage: Wednesday 27th April 2022
Celebrity Beyond will be the third ship in Celebrity Cruises’ renowned Edge Class. Like her sisters, Celebrity Edge and Celebrity Apex, Celebrity Beyond will feature a range of stand-out features such as The Magic Carpet, a cantilevered deck that allows guests to soar over the open ocean and the popular Resort Deck which features Martini glass-shaped Jacuzzis that overlook the deck below. She will also feature two new suite classes; the Edge Villa, a split-level suite and the 5,000-square-foot Iconic Suite.
Maiden voyage: Friday 29th April 2022
The sixth and final ship to join Princess Cruises’ Royal Class, Discovery Princess will feature some of the best technology at sea. Expect all the usual unforgettable features like OceanMedallion, Broadway-style shows, Movies Under The Stars and an array of dining options as well as a number of “new to the line” features.
Maiden voyage: Monday 2nd May 2022
Azamara Onward is the fourth ship to join the Azamara fleet. Much like her sisters' Azamara Journey, Azamara Pursuit and Azamara Quest, she will feature authentic service, award-winning accommodations and modern amenities. Azamara Onward will push forward the future of Destination Immersion experiences with Country-Intensive Voyages making it easy to experience each country.
Maiden voyage: Friday 9th December 2022
Set to join the P&O Cruises fleet in December 2022, Arvia will offer more freedom, greater choice, sunnier vibes and spectacular views. As the sister ship to Iona, Arvia will feature many of her sibling’s incredible amenities plus some special surprises of her own.
