Bali has been named the number one travel destination by TripAdvisor in the top 10 world travel destinations 2017, pushing London from the top spot.
As well as increasing in popularity with backpackers and travellers venturing to Southeast Asia, Bali has become a staple luxury holiday destination. The small island has cemented its status as an essential travel destination in recent years. Its idyllic setting and scenery coupled with the white sand beaches and exotic black sand beaches make it an obvious choice for any luxury cruise holiday.
Surprisingly, this was Bali’s first appearance in TripAdvisor’s top 10, shooting straight to pole position. Despite being a small island, Bali has many attractions and a diverse landscape that can cater to all tastes and desires.
Large metropolitan cities have traditionally dominated the list in previous years, with London leading the way in 2016. This year, six of the top ten travel destinations are among the biggest cities on the planet, with four of the top ten being major European capitals.
The list was determined by an algorithm that judged the quality and quantity of users' reviews and the ratings for hotels, restaurants and attractions for the past 12 months.
