The former Olympic champion Sally Gunnell OBE DL has been named as the godmother of Ambassador Cruise Line’s first cruise ship, Ambience.
Sally rose to fame in 1992 when won Olympic Gold. After her athletic career ended due to injuries, she continued to work in TV, covering athletic events around the world. Sally is still the only female to hold the World, Olympic, European and Commonwealth Gold medals at the same time.
Today, the 55-year-old mother of three runs corporate wellbeing programmes and is a keynote speaker having written four influential books about health and wellbeing, which she attributes as the key to her athletic success.
On the news of her appointment as Ambience’s godmother, Sally said, “Ambassador Cruise Line has a collection of brand values that resonate with me, from community and wellbeing to being sustainable and ethical, we are all responsible for the seas we sail.”
Christian Verhounig, the Chief Executive of Ambassador Cruise Line, added, “We’re incredibly proud to have Sally as our first ship’s godmother. She is a wonderful advocate for the 50-plus market and her ambitious drive and dedication to achievement echoes Ambassador Cruise Line’s determination for expansion.”
Ambience will set sail on her maiden voyage on the 20th of April 2022 and we cannot wait to welcome her!
