Celebrating Scenic’s hat trick of awards at the 2019 Cruise Critic UK Editors’ Picks Awards.
Published on 05 Dec 2019
At this year’s Cruise Critic UK Editors’ Picks Awards, Scenic were the proud winner of three fantastic awards. Scenic Eclipse won the coveted ‘Best New Luxury Ship’ title and in the river cruise category, Scenic scooped awards for ‘Best for Enrichment’ and ‘Best for Shore Excursions.
The 2019 Cruise Critic UK Editors’ Picks Awards are chosen by Cruise Critic’s international team of editors, based on the lines and ships they feel best represent excellence in each of the designated categories.
Here’s what the Cruise Critic judges said of Scenic’s triumph:
Best New Luxury Ship (Luxury Category) – Scenic Eclipse
“Cruisers might book Scenic Eclipse because it offers two state-of-the-art helicopters and a six-person sub, but they’ll come back because of the 200-passenger ship’s chic, modern design, generously sized suites and incredible dining offerings. Scenic pulled out all the stops with its first ocean ship, which seamlessly combines luxury and soft-adventure travel to exotic destinations, including the Arctic and Antarctica.”
Best for Enrichment (River Category) – Scenic Luxury Cruises & Tours
“Scenic’s partnership with National Geographic has significantly broadened and deepened enrichment offered on board specified cruises. Expert lecturers and photographers give in-depth talks about the culture, the people and the historical significance of the places you are visiting, as well as accompanying selected tours. Photographers offer tips and advice to help you better capture the sights you are visiting.”
Best Shore Excursions (River Category) – Scenic Luxury Cruises & Tours
“This line has long recognised passengers don’t want to be part of a crowd and have individual needs and preferences. Each day the all-inclusive Scenic Freechoice programme offers shore tours at a relaxed, moderate or active pace, Scenic Enrich excursions explore local culture and evening sundowner trips take cocktail hours to picturesque spots. Independent cruisers can discover ports by themselves with the updated Scenic Tailormade app.”
Nichola Absalom, Scenic Luxury Cruises and Tours Marketing Director, said of the hat trick of award wins, “It’s an honour to be recognised and awarded by the Cruise Critic editorial team, and is testament to the strength of the Scenic brand and the quality and innovative nature of our product. Scenic Eclipse has set a new benchmark in ultra-luxury cruising and I’m thrilled she’s received this global accolade from Cruise Critic.”
Scenic will be further expanding its excursion programme in 2020, offering guests sailing in Europe an exclusive Sound of Music performance in the Austrian hillside, as well as an acapella choir performance inside Fontainebleau Castle’s Trinity Chapel and a guided tour of the fascinating Memorial Museum of Cosmonautics in Moscow.
Here’s to an exciting 2020 for Scenic!
