Silversea introduce the luxurious Silver Nova
Published on 03 Dec 2021
Silversea has announced the latest addition to its fleet, Silver Nova. Set to sail in the summer of 2023, this innovative ship will lead the Silversea fleet into sustainable cruising.
The 728 guest capacity Silver Nova will have a mix of the most advanced technologies making it one of the most sustainable, energy-efficient ships ever built. With a hydrodynamically optimised hull, hydrogen fuel cells and Liquid Natural Gas (LNG) fueled propulsion system, Silver Nova will reduce the cruise ship's carbon footprint and lower fuel emissions by 40%.
This revolutionary design is accompanied by pioneering architecture allowing for aft suites with spectacular 270-degree views. With all the standard Silversea features, Silver Nova will have butler service in every suite, a high crew-to-guest ratio, exceptional cuisine and a luxurious design.
A traditional steel-cutting ceremony was performed at Meyer Werft in Papenburg on the 18th of November 2021, with executives from Silversea and Meyer Werft there to mark the occasion. Silver Nova is one of two ships planned to join the luxurious Silversea fleet under ‘Project Evolution’. A press release stated that Silver Nova will be the first hybrid, luxury cruise ship free of local emissions at port.
Roberto Martinoli, President and CEO of Silversea said, “Being at the forefront of sustainable shipping design and innovation is a testament to our team’s drive for continuous improvement. These advancements support our desire to showcase the world to our guests and to do so in a mindful and environmentally responsible way.”
This highly anticipated ship marks an exciting time for cruising, further information on Silversea’s newest ship is not yet known, so watch this space for more exciting news on the revolutionary Silver Nova.
