Staff stories: Azamara’s Azamara Quest

I was utterly delighted to be given the opportunity to experience an Azamara ship. From the moment I stepped on board, I was truly blown away by the wonderful Azamara Quest. With less than 700-passengers on board and only five decks, it doesn’t take long before the ship feels familiar - a home-away-from-home, if you will.

My first night on board began with Azamara’s famous poolside buffet and party, White Night. Colourful decor and linen-draped tables, a fabulous buffet feast where the barbecued lobster certainly stole the show. After dinner, there was an excellent live band, the atmosphere was fantastic!

The service was extremely friendly and efficient, especially in the restaurants. After a few evenings of dining in the Discoveries Restaurant, the waiting staff had come to know my favourite drink order and how I like my coffee.

The food is second-to-none. With so much choice they really do cater to everyone’s taste. From snacks in the cafes, the buffet and to my personal favourite, the Discoveries Restaurant, where the menu is different every night. Simply some of the best food and service I have ever experienced.

The AzAmazing evening is not to be missed. I was delighted to find that all AzAmazing evenings are exclusive to Azamara passengers, meaning I am now one of the very few fortunate individuals to see the Three Tenors in Livorno. Everything is incredibly well organised with nearly all passengers attending this once-in-a-lifetime event. We were transferred from the port to the theatre with military precision to be met by the captain upon arrival. A memorable evening which I will never forget.

There is an exceptional array of ‘Cruise Global, Connect Local’ shore excursions for every travel style available to book on board. I experienced a fabulous wine tasting at a classic Tuscan vineyard just outside of Lucca. I really did feel completely immersed in the destination and that’s what Azamara is all about.

Beautiful small ships, destination intensive itineraries, excellent food and a delightful on board experience, it’s easy to see why so many of the passengers I met on board are loyal Azamara customers. I had a truly ‘AzAmazing’ time.
