Recently, I had the wonderful opportunity to witness the naming of the brand-new Princess Cruises ship, Sun Princess. Docked in Barcelona, she proudly stood out from a distance.
We were welcomed onboard the new flagship and, as we embarked, immediately walked into The Piazza which is simply stunning and the most perfect welcome when you first step onboard. The Piazza features different cafes, entertainment venues and bars and you can tell it would be an ideal area to visit both during the daytime and evening as there is always something happening.
We were given an informative tour of the ship and very much enjoyed seeing all the different areas. What I found most interesting is that there are many smaller venues than I was expecting. There’s lots of choice and you will always find somewhere new to visit and try out whilst still enjoying that intimate feeling.
All the lounges, bars and restaurants are very elegant and sophisticated and the ship's decor is immaculate. I am confident she will be very much enjoyed by all her guests.
Sun Princess has more dining options than the rest of the fleet and announced whilst we were onboard was the new collaboration with Romero Britto. Known for his bold, colourful, joyful style and a global love for happiness, Britto is a world-renowned artist. The brand-new Love by Britto restaurant will feature an artist-inspired dining experience, an exciting opportunity for guests to enjoy.
A standout venue for me on the ship was The Dome, with floor-to-ceiling glass this spectacular and luxurious theatre features acrobatic performances. A key objective for Princess Cruises was to introduce more light around the ship and this has most definitely been achieved.
Hannah Waddingham named this beautiful ship and her enthusiasm and elegance really was the most perfect match for the brand-new ship. The well-known actress's family has a deep connection with the sea and as she described she has a passion for all things nautical which was evident as she named the vessel.
The celebrations continued throughout the ship as Princess Cruises showcased the amazing cuisine offered by the different restaurants onboard whilst we were able to see the high-quality shows on offer.
Sun Princess is an absolutely beautiful ship and a fantastic addition to the Princess Cruises fleet; one I would definitely recommend you try.
