Earlier this month, Commercial Account Manager Tash was lucky enough to spend a few days aboard Vista ahead of her very special christening celebration and naming ceremony. Here, Tash tells us all about her time onboard Oceania Cruises’ newest ship:
Welcome back, Tash! How special to have been one of the first to step aboard Vista. What were your first impressions of Oceania Cruises’ newest ship?
Well, it exceeded every expectation! It’s luxurious, spacious and just pure class from top to bottom. Oceania Cruises set out to evoke the wonders you’ll discover ashore onboard. And through stylish design and harmonious spaces, they’ve done just that. With elements inspired by land and sea, you’re certain to be captivated and discover a new way of seeing the world.
You were lucky enough to stay in a Penthouse Suite - could you tell us about the elevated level of luxury?
Where to begin? As soon as I stepped into my stylish suite, I noticed how much more space there is. Penthouse Suites boast the added luxuries of a walk-in closet, an oversized bathroom with dual vanities and a large private veranda overlooking the sea. The Champagne on ice and butler service were a real treat, too! If budget allows, the Penthouse Suite experience gives you extra comfort, space, exclusivity and an understanding that your every whim will be taken care of.
Tell us more about the butler service!
After being in my suite for just a few minutes, and taking in the plush pale blue and silver furnishings, there was a gentle tap on the door. I opened it to be greeted by my impeccably dressed butler who politely asked if he could step in for a moment to introduce himself. He knew my name straight away and took the time to show me that I had a fully stocked mini-bar, chilled water and water bottles to take ashore if I wished. He had laid out some chilled Champagne and some canapés for me to enjoy. He advised me of the Concierge Lounge that I had exclusive access to down the corridor and that my suite attendant was called Natalia. He then showed me the phone in the room and which button to press if I needed him at any time.
Oceania Cruises are well-known for serving The Finest Cuisine at Sea®. What was your experience of the food onboard Vista?
Every meal surpassed the last. It truly was the most divine food I’ve ever experienced, Oceania Cruises certainly lives up to its accolade of The Finest Cuisine at Sea®.
To give you an idea, we wanted to grab a quick something from Waves Grill (which is located on Deck 12 close to the pool) when we embarked, so we ordered the burger and chips and were amazed to be served sliced filet mignon with lobster tails in a beautiful bun. But that was just the start! What’s more, the addition of two new speciality dining venues means the cruise line has exceeded what any other cruise line is offering in terms of cuisine.
