Join ROL Cruise team member Haydn as he discovers a Cunard classic with a modern twist

Recently, we had the pleasure of visiting Cunard’s brand-new ship, Queen Anne

We began our visit in the Grand Lobby, standing over three decks with timeless decor and striking features. This grand welcome set the scene for what the ship had to offer.

The number of bars and restaurants onboard is beyond impressive, with options that ensure you can fully immerse yourself in an evening of indulging. From the opulent Commodore Club on Deck 12 to the spacious Carinthia Lounge on Deck 3, you can enjoy your favourite cocktails from the expansive list available. A personal favourite for me was the traditional Golden Lion on Deck 2, a classic venue across the Cunard fleet. There is a sense of home in the Golden Lion, wherever you are in the world, you won’t be far from classic fish and chips.

A must-see onboard is the brand-new Bright Lights Society on Deck 2, a first for Cunard. Here, you can enjoy a variety of entertainment where no two nights are the same. Dazzling musicians and unexpected performers take the stage. You’ll also find yourself immersed in Cunard’s history in this impressive venue.

The cabins and suites on Queen Anne are a top selling point. Every detail has been taken care of which makes for the perfect living area when at sea. My favourite suite was the Penthouse Suite, which features a marble bathroom with a full-sized shower and a bath, a full living area large enough to entertain before a formal night and an extended balcony which would be the perfect spot to catch the sun whilst relaxing.

As we ventured to the end of our tour, we enjoyed an impressive meal in the Britannia Restaurant on Decks 2 and 3. The menu selection was impressive, offering a wide range of dishes. Whether it’s British or regional cuisine you fancy, the dining options onboard are certain to fulfil your appetite.

The food in the Britannia Restaurant was some of the best I’ve experienced both at sea and onshore. I must give a special shout-out to the service - the staff ensured we were never without, be that a drink or a condiment. They couldn’t do enough for us!

Overall, it’s clear to say that Queen Anne is by far one of the most impressive ships at sea. She balances the perfect blend of a modern whip and a classic Queen.
