Published on 28 Oct 2024

Princess Cruises has announced exciting new features for Star Princessthe second ship in the Sphere Class set to launch in 2025. A beautiful replica of the popular Sun Princesswhich currently sails in the Caribbean from Fort Lauderdale, Star Princess will introduce several unique enhancements. These include expanded dining options, leisure experiences and non-smoking casino areas, making her a remarkable addition to the fleet.

Accommodating 4,300 guests and weighing 178,000 tons, Star Princess is designed to provide a luxurious experience. Like her sister ship, she will be powered by liquefied natural gas (LNG), showcasing the brand’s commitment to sustainability. With a sleek and sophisticated design, Star Princess will feature cutting-edge elements such as The Dome, the first geodesic dome at sea, and The Sphere, a stunning glass-enclosed Piazza that serves as the ship’s central hub.

“After the overwhelming response to Sun Princess, we are excited to debut her sister ship, Star Princess, with added enhancements to elevate the guest experience,” said John Padgett, Princess Cruises President. “From expanded non-smoking casino areas to new spaces for relaxation and recreation, Star Princess will deliver an unforgettable holiday for all when she launches in autumn 2025.”

Star Princess highlights:

  • O’Malley’s Irish Pub expanded: With 32 more seats, this popular venue on Deck 7 will accommodate more guests looking to enjoy traditional Irish food, live music and a selection of beers and whiskies.
  • Expanded Love by Britto: This exclusive, art-inspired dining venue on Deck 17, a collaboration between artist Romero Britto and Chef Rudi Sodamin, will add 20 more seats for guests to savour its unique seven-course fusion menu.
  • New SkyDeck Sports Court & Track: Active guests will enjoy the new sports court for pickleball and basketball, as well as a jogging track, splash pad and shaded areas for relaxation on Deck 19.
  • Expanded non-smoking casino areas: Gaming enthusiasts who prefer a smoke-free environment will enjoy 68 additional slot machines in newly designated non-smoking sections of the casino on Deck 8

Star Princess features a total of 2,157 staterooms, including 80 suites, 123 mini suites, over 1,000 balcony cabins and 100 connecting rooms, offering a variety of accommodations to cater to every guest’s preferences.

The Sanctuary Collection represents the pinnacle of quiet luxury, providing exclusive access to the ship’s serene top-deck retreat. Guests staying in suites, mini-suites and 12 deluxe balcony cabins can enjoy a range of high-end amenities designed to elevate their voyage. These indulgences include private dining and relaxation areas, a lavish stateroom experience and the Princess Premier bundle, all contributing to the all-inclusive charm of the Sanctuary experience.
