These 8 new cruise ships will debut in 2023

New ships on the block

Published on 14 Oct 2022

Whether it’s brand new and built from the ground up or a new take on an old favourite, there’s plenty for us to look forward to in 2023. Here are the 8 cruise ships that we’re most excited to see launch next year:

Ambition, Ambassador Cruise Line

Ambition is the second ship to join the Ambassador Cruise Line fleet. Built in 1999, Ambition started life as Mistral for Festival Cruises and has had a varied and interesting career ever since. When she reenters service in May 2023, she will carry up to 1,200 passengers and boast a plethora of leisure facilities including fleet favourites, Buckingham Restaurant and The Palladium.

Celebrity Ascent, Celebrity Cruises

The Celebrity Cruises fleet is the pinnacle of premium cruising. And now, with the fourth ship in the magnificent Edge Series launching in December 2023, it’s about to get even better. Celebrity Ascent will be the sister ship to Celebrity Beyond, but will feature newly-expanded open spaces on deck. Think bigger and better. What’s more, she will boast the widest range of accommodation in the fleet.

Emerald Sakara, Emerald Yacht Cruises

More a luxury yacht than a cruise ship, Emerald Sakara will offer intimate cruising at its finest when she launches in August 2023. At 110 metres in length and with just 100 passengers onboard, Emerald Yacht Cruises’ newest ship is perfect for relaxing and discovering exciting destinations. Speaking of destinations, due to her size, Emerald Sakara has the ability to access smaller ports that others cannot reach.

Scenic Eclipse II, Scenic Ocean Cruises

In 2019, the launch of Scenic Eclipse, The World’s First Discovery Yachts™, set the benchmark in ultra-luxury ocean cruising. Now, her sister ship Scenic Eclipse II will produce a new era of expedition cruising when she launches next year. Designed to be a versatile exploration ship, she’ll offer itineraries amongst smaller ports of the Mediterranean and Baltic regions, because of this, every one of her suites will boast a veranda.

Seabourn Pursuit, Seabourn

Seabourn Pursuit will be the second expedition ship in the Seabourn fleet when she debuts next year. Combining the luxury of a Seabourn ocean cruise and the adventurous spirit of an expedition vessel, Seabourn Pursuit will feature advanced technology and her comfortable two-storey suites will have double-height windows with telescopes for wildlife spotting.

Seven Seas Grandeur, Regent Seven Seas Cruises

When she launches in November 2023, Seven Seas Grandeur will take the established excellence of the Regent Seven Seas Cruises fleet and refine it to create a luxury experience like no other at sea. With every luxury included, guests can embrace every single moment of their journey. Inspired by the past and reimagined for the future, will Seven Seas Grandeur take the title of the “world’s most luxurious cruise ship?”

Silver Nova, Silversea

When Silver Nova launches next summer, she will be the first ship to ever use advanced hybrid technology. This means that, while in port, she won’t produce any harmful emissions. Leading the way in eco-friendly cruising, she will be the first ship in Silversea’s new Evolution Class. And with 728 passengers, she’ll also be the biggest ship in the Silversea fleet.

Vista, Oceania Cruises

Debuting in April, the much-anticipated Vista will bring with her a host of fleet firsts, like her Concierge Level Veranda Staterooms designed for solo passengers and her two new restaurants; Ember and Aquamar. Alongside this, Oceania Cruises’ already fabulous staterooms and suites will be taken to a whole new level with opulent bathrooms and decadent decor.
