Published on 26 Sep 2022
When Wonder of the Seas joined the Royal Caribbean International fleet in March 2022, she snatched the title of the largest cruise ship in the world. And at 1,188 feet long, 215 feet wide and welcoming 7,084 passengers aboard, it’s easy to see why. In this guide, we’ll cover everything you need to know about the newest ship in the Oasis Class:
2016: Royal Caribbean signed a memorandum of understanding for a fifth Oasis Class ship.
2019: In April 2019, the first steel for the new ship was cut at the Saint-Nazaire shipyard. By May, the vessel’s keel had been laid.
2020: Royal Caribbean announced that delivery of the ship would be delayed until 2022, as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.
2021: Royal Caribbean opened bookings aboard Wonder of the Seas for an inaugural 2022 season sailing in Asia. However, in September 2021, they announced that the ship would instead debut at Port Everglades, sailing Caribbean cruises, before moving to the Mediterranean in the summer to sail out of Barcelona and Rome.
2022: In January 2022, Royal Caribbean accepted Wonder of the Seas. Her maiden voyage commenced on 4th March 2022.
As the largest cruise ship in the world, it’ll come as no surprise that Wonder of the Seas has some of the most impressive onboard amenities ever. Here are some of the most popular amenities and facilities found onboard:
Sailing to some of the world’s most sun-kissed destinations, Wonder of the Seas unlocks out-of-this-world adventures. Sail to the Caribbean to experience barefoot luxury or journey to Asia and the Far East to discover city lights and ancient sights. Where will you go?
