Overview of Bermuda

Bermuda is a British Overseas Territory in the North Atlantic Ocean. The Bermuda archipelago consists of 181 islands and has a sub-tropical climate with mild winters and warm summers.

Bermuda is known for the ring of reefs which surround it. Brimming with marine life, they offer the chance to see beautiful sea life and explore myriad shipwrecks. The Mary Celestia is the most famous of the bunch, once a grand vessel that smuggled goods across the Pacific, she now lies on the ocean floor near Bermuda and is a great place to dive. A trip into the waters that surround Bermuda will lead you to sea turtles, tropical fish and sea mammals of all kinds.

One of the most marvellous sites in Bermuda is the pink sand beaches. As red corals and crushed shells mix with the sand, the beaches turn pastel pink and are a sight to behold - especially next to the crystal-clear water. Journey to one of the pink beaches on the island to spend a unique day in the sun, snap some pictures or just see this phenomenon, it really is a sight unlike any other and one that must be witnessed on a cruise to the island.

Tucked away on the north side of the island is Blue Hole Park. This nature reserve offers a fantastic day out, with its tree-lined lagoon taking pride of place. The bright blue waters are perfect for a swim and the surrounding caves are fascinating. Take a dip in the lagoon and swim with the fish in and out of the otherworldly caves.

The food scene in Bermuda is diverse. Pillared between the UK and the US, it takes its inspiration from everywhere and its dishes are delicious. Plus, the bright Caribbean sun means that fresh ingredients are plentiful which only enhances the flavours in every meal. Try a traditional codfish breakfast, fresh fruit picked straight from the tree and more.
