A melting pot of European and South American cultures, Buenos Aires is the confident capital of Argentina. Beside the busy port is a metropolis boasting eclectic architecture, delicious parrilla-based cuisine and passionate Porteños. It is the birthplace of Pope Francis and Diego Maradona and final resting place of Evita. The famously seductive Argentine tango was born in the cobbled backstreets of the La Boca area, so there’s no better place to experience this sultry dance

Upon arrival, transfer to the port where you will embark the hybrid-powered MS Fridtjof Nansen for your 17 night Antarctica & Falklands Expedition (B)
Prepare yourself for Antarctica as you cross the famed Drake Passage. Learn about the fascinating history and environmental science of Antarctica from the Expedition Team in the Science Centre
Antarctica never fails to inspire awe and wonder, with white horizons above ancient glaciers and oceans full of icebergs and whales (February and March are the best months for whale watching). Perhaps even more awe-inspiring will be your first meeting with adolescent penguins learning how to swim.
Your Captain and Expedition Team will work with the elements to create the best possible itinerary for your adventure as you explore the most beautiful and most remote places on Earth. You will have five days to take in every magical moment. During your discovery of ‘the Seventh Continent’, landings will be attempted on several sites in the Antarctic Peninsula and its surrounding islands and will aim to bring you to the incredible diversity of wildlife and landscapes the area has to offer. Lectures from the Expedition Team will be ongoing as well, both on board and ashore.
This is another world – nowhere else offers such untouched wild beauty, explorer history and rich wildlife!
Join the Expedition Team as they continue their lecture programme covering topics such as the history of the great explorers, marine biology, wildlife, oceanography and climate change. Scout for wildlife from deck, relax in the Explorer Lounge & Bar or just watch the scenery glide by from the outdoor hot tubs or heated infinity pool
With green grass, white sands and farms, the Falklands are a world away from the barren white wilderness of Antarctica. Spend three days exploring the islands with no exact itinerary, allowing the Captain and Expedition Team to pick out the best spots for each day based on the conditions at the time. This is a paradise for birds, like ducks, geese, albatrosses, caracaras and wrens, not to mention the four different species of penguins to found here – king, rockhopper, Magellanic and gentoo. The latter normally hang out in large colonies around the islands, which you might be able to spot from the ship or even visit during one of our landings. Stanley, the capital of the archipelago, is on the island of East Falkland and easy for the ship to access. Small enough to be explored on foot, it comes complete with familiar English red buses, inviting restaurants and pubs full of friendly locals
The Valdez Peninsula is a stunning nature reserve that has been declared a UNESCO World Heritage site. Situated on Argentina's Patagonian coast, this peninsula is home to dramatic natural habitats. Enjoy a wide variety of optional excursions starting in Puerto Madryn that bring you closer to wildlife and let you experience the Gaucholifestyle of Patagonia
After exhilarating days in Patagonia, Antarctica and the Falklands, the final days of the voyage are spent sailing north while the temperatures rise. Relax with your fellow explorers on the outer decks, restaurants and lounges, and enjoy the Farewell dinner on the last evening
Disembark and transfer to a 5★ hotel for your overnight stay, including breakfast
After breakfast, transfer to the airport for your overnight flight to London (B)
