All the cabins and suites on Hurtigruten ships have an ‘Northern Lights alert’ which informs you whenever Hurtigruten spot sightings of the aurora, so you can rush to your window or outside to catch them. Hurtigruten crew will announce occurrences of the aurora to your cabin or suite at any time of the day or night. The Northern Lights Promise is applicable to new bookings only on voyages of 11 days or more along the Norwegian Coast aboard The Coastal Express, The North Cape Line, and Hurtigruten from Hamburg, departing between 20th September and 31st March. Northern Lights occurrences are defined as a sighting from the ship which is recorded by the ship's deck officers and announced to passengers on board. Occurrences can last from a few minutes to a matter of hours and the ships decision as to whether the Northern Lights occurred is final. Hurtigruten will announce occurrences direct to you your cabin or suite and cannot be held responsible if you miss the Northern Lights if you miss the announcement. In the event of there being no occurrence as defined above, you will receive a 6 or 7 day Original Coastal Express Classic Voyage, departing between 20 September and 31 March of the following year in an unspecified inside twin cabin on a full-board basis free of charge. You may upgrade to another grade of cabin subject to additional costs and availability. Please note that upgrading to suites with this offer may not be available. Hurtigruten reserve the right to withdraw or amend the offer at any time. The offer must be claimed and booked within 28 days from your return date. A choice of departure dates will be given. The offer excludes flights, transfers, all onboard expenses, excursions, and luggage handling. The offer does not apply to interrupted or cancelled cruises (for any reason) with the effect that (a) the actual length of the cruise in days is less than 11 days, and/or (b) the cruise does not call its scheduled embarkation or turnaround port, and/or (c) actual disembarkation of the cruise occurs in a port north of Trondheim.
