The cruise blogs that are helping us to get through self-isolation
Published on 09 Apr 2020
We get it, self-isolation can be a little boring. But we’re using this opportunity to swot up on our favourite cruise influencers. After all, when we’re not talking about cruises, we’re reading about them. Though travel plans are sadly on hold for the time being, it doesn’t mean you have to stop dreaming about your next voyage. Here are the six cruise blogs that are helping to feed our wanderlust:
Created by two brothers with a passion for cruising, Cruise Fever is for those who love to cruise. Their goal is simple - to ensure Cruise Fever readers are the most well-educated cruisers on the planet and they do so by creating content that continually informs; whether it’s the latest breaking cruise news, recent changes in the travel industry or reports on cruise ships, cruise lines and cruise ports. Cruise Fever also has a fantastic YouTube channel that is definitely worth subscribing to if you enjoy ship tours.
Since 2004, Cruise Hive has been an excellent source for all things cruise. Run by Emrys Thakkar, a previous Carnival Cruise employee, Cruise Hive brings readers together enabling them to share their love of cruising. We love their cruise tips, which have been designed to help and guide you through every aspect of your cruise.
A committed non-flyer since 1995, Sherry Laskin began her website Cruise Maven in 2007. We love Sherry because of her unique philosophy, “if there’s a port, I can get there,” which has enabled her to travel the world without ever stepping foot on an aeroplane. A great source of inspiration for destination travel, Cruise Maven also features cruise reviews, cruise news and tips on how to plan the perfect trip.
Husband and wife duo, Don and Heidi Bucolo are the masters behind Eat Sleep Cruise. In 2014, the couple set up their blog as a place that allows them to express their unique approach to cruising and connect with other like-minded travellers who want to, “see the world, one port at a time.” We love their cruise ship scorecard reviews and Heidi’s packing guides.
Popular Cruising is a fun, refreshing oasis for cruise reviews and behind-the-scenes explorations of cruising. The blogger, Jason, has over 130 sailings under his belt making him a true cruise expert. He covers every topic possible; news, reviews, tips, ocean cruising, river cruising and destinations and even has his own podcast!
The Cruise Blogger’s Anna has experienced every angle of cruising. As a former cruise ship crew member, she has been lucky enough to travel the world alongside her husband who is a former cruise ship deputy captain. Anna’s blog aims to unpack common myths about cruise holidays and tackles topics such as dressing for a cruise and the pros and cons of cruising in your 30s.
