Yes! Wi-Fi is available and it is free of charge.

Can I smoke onboard a SAGA cruise ship?

Smoking and vaping are permitted in the designated smoking area. On Spirit of Adventure and Spirit of Discovery, this is the port side aft on Deck 11.

Do Saga Ocean Cruises cater to allergies, intolerances or specific diets?

Saga Ocean Cruises cater for most dietary needs as long as they are alerted in advance. Please inform us prior to sailing so we can pass the information on to the cruise line.

Do I need to pay for gratuities with SAGA?

Gratuities and service charges are included in the price of your Saga Ocean Cruises fare so you do not need to budget for tips once onboard.

What currency is used onboard SAGA?

Pound Sterling is the currency used onboard.

What is the dress code onboard a SAGA Cruise?

The evening dress code applies from 6 pm and must be followed by all guests in the ship’s public areas for the evening. The dress code is recommended for the ambience and comfort of all guests. Details will be shown in your Daily Programme.

When can I book shore excursions with SAGA?

You can pre-book your shore excursions. Saga Ocean Cruises will send you information relating to shore excursions around 6 to 8 weeks before departure.

How do I book an e-Bike on my SAGA Cruise?

You can book one of the e-bikes that are available on Spirit of Adventure and Spirit of Discovery at their Explore Ashore service desk. We recommend you book in advance. 

How many formal nights will there be on my SAGA cruise?

The number of formal nights will depend on the duration of your cruise.

Please see the breakdown below:

A cruise of 4 – 7 nights will have one formal night.

A cruise of 8 – 11 nights will have two formal nights.

A cruise of 12 – 21 nights will have three formal nights on board.

What shall I wear to a formal night with SAGA?

Formal attire will be required in all restaurants on your SAGA cruise, except in The Grill on Formal nights.

For ladies’ appropriate formal attire includes an evening gown, cocktail dress, or a dress suit.

For gentlemen, appropriate formal attire includes a suit with a tie or a dinner jacket with a bow tie.

For those who do not want to participate in formal nights, evening-casual attire can be worn in The Grill, The Playhouse Theatre, and all bars.

Premium all-inclusive drinks are subject to the cruise line’s T&Cs. Private Chauffeur up to 75 miles each way; shared chauffeur service from 76-250 miles unless otherwise stated. Additional mileage will incur a charge. Car parking is based on one space for the duration of the cruise and will be near the port. Free Shuttle is available whenever possible, and when the ship is berthed at least 500 yards from the nearest town centre. A selection of sightseeing excursions are included and available in selected ports. Some additional excursions will incur an additional cost. Further information will be featured in the ‘your cruise booklet’, sent to you a few months before departure. Wildlife sightings are not guaranteed. Spa treatments will incur an additional charge. Savings are based on two adults sharing and are already added to the fare. Saga cruises are for anyone aged 50 or over. A travelling companion or family member travelling with you may be aged 40 or over. If you live within 75 miles of the port, SAGA include a private chauffeur. If you live within 250 miles of the port, (increasing to 300 miles for cruises departing from 1st January 2024), a shared chauffeur service is included. If you live further away, you can buy extra miles, they cost £2.50 per mile. If you'd prefer to have the vehicle to yourself you can upgrade to a private car for £3.70 per mile.
