Billed as the ‘Most Luxurious Ship Ever Built,’ Seven Seas Explorer certainly lives up to the title. Delightfully decorated and sumptuously presented throughout, everything has been taken care of. With more than an acre of granite and marble features, just under 500 chandeliers, as well as works of art that range from celebrated Spanish painter, Pablo Picasso, to early modernist, Marc Chagall, the ship is wonderfully intimate yet decidedly spacious.
Equally luxurious are the ship’s 375 suites, all of which have balconies that open out onto the spectacular views you pass. These are some of the largest balconies at sea, providing additional private space in which you may relax. The suites themselves ooze luxury, thanks to the exquisite décor and intimate detail.
Each suite is unique in terms of design but the one thing they all share is exceptional attention to detail. European Elite Slumber beds are fitted in each cabin for optimum comfort, as well as more practical features, such as refrigerated minibars, USB charging stations and flat-screen televisions with on-demand movies. Bathrooms are adorned with both marble and stone, creating a highly chic space that includes a bath and shower in most rooms.
On Seven Seas Explorer, you are guaranteed the same elegance and sophistication regardless of your category. The expansive private balconies are just one of the many exceptional features that every suite presents, along with spacious walk-in wardrobes, plush bathrobes and slippers and 24-hour room service if required.
As you would expect from an ultra-luxury cruise ship, the food is an inspired combination of fine dining delivered in spectacular surroundings. Incredible high-quality cuisine is served throughout the ship, matched by the unwaveringly attentive service of its crew. The ship boasts two main restaurants, offering exquisite fine dining options as well as three additional speciality eateries and the Pool Grill for a casual dining experience during sunset.
Compass Rose, the main dining option, is a beautiful space that has been expertly designed. The restaurant is open dining, offering you the flexibility to dine when it suits you, either intimately as a couple or as a larger group if travelling with friends. Open for both breakfast and dinner, the restaurant beings with freshly cooked classics and continental delicacies, before moving onto a carefully prepared multicourse experience in the evening. Allergies and special requirements are expertly attended to, meaning that quality is assured for each guest.
Seven Seas Explorer’s speciality eateries include Pacific Rim, a pan-Asian restaurant that delivers dishes inspired by the east, from Japan to China and even Vietnam. Next is Chartreuse, which serves modern French cuisine in the style of a Parisian café. Be transported to the streets of Paris, thanks to classic French dishes. Alternatively, there is Prime 7, a traditional signature steakhouse with an emphasis on exceptional produce cooked to perfection - you are guaranteed to experience some of the best grilled food at sea.
The Pool Grill is a come-as-you-dine venue, allowing guests to pass by for a light bite or to indulge in a casual gourmet dinner during the sunset. The Pool Grill is open-air but offers an abundance of shade for a comfortable dining experience during the day. Here, you can indulge in grilled-to-order burgers, seafood and fresh salads. The milkshakes and hand-dipped ice creams are a must.
What better way to soak up the sun and relax aboard a luxury cruise liner than lounging beside the pool? Described by many as one of the most elegant pool decks at sea, this decadent oasis has a lavish pool and twin whirlpools. The attentive crew are on hand to deliver refreshing drinks and soft, dry towels - meaning you can fully relax.
Aboard Seven Seas Explorer, you’ll find a designated running track and sports area for more active recreation activities. The jogging track gives you a wonderful opportunity to take in fresh sea air whilst keeping fit with either a jog or walk around the deck. The sports area is home to cruise classics such as shuffleboard, putting greens and paddle tennis. The state-of-the-art Fitness Center is a great indoor alternative featuring free weights, treadmills, workout mats and much more. Dedicated fitness professionals are on hand to advise and motivate. Pilates, yoga and aerobics classes are also available, meaning there is something for everyone.
When the sun sets, the entertainment comes alive. The ship’s main theatre is Constellation Theater - a stunning art deco space that is host to an array of inviting and exciting shows and activities. From cruise classics, such as outstanding cabaret and production shows, to culinary demonstrations from highly-skilled esteemed chefs, there is a varied and enjoyable programme of events throughout your trip. Large screens flank the stage, making this spacious area accessible to all, as even the most intricate cooking techniques can be displayed. The ornate decoration also harks back to the golden age of Hollywood, transporting you through traditional architecture and classic showpieces.
If you prefer something a little quieter, the Connoisseur Club is a sophisticated setting that enables those who enjoy fine cigars and exceptional liquor to sit back, relax and indulge. Comfortable and inviting with leather couches and a gentle, relaxing ambience, this haven hidden on Deck 11 is the perfect spot in which to escape and grab a glass of something.
Seven Seas Explorer sails her 750 guests to Alaska, the Mediterranean, the Caribbean, the Panama Canal and Central America, Africa, Asia and South Pacific.
