Overview of Explorer of the Seas

The 3,284-passenger Explorer of the Seas joined the Royal Caribbean International fleet in 2000 as the second ship in the Voyager Class. She is most loved for her wealth of facilities.

Onboard Experience

Accommodation

Award-winning, awe-inspiring accommodation awaits on Explorer of the Seas. Choose from four main stateroom categories; Interior, Ocean View, Balcony and Suite and get ready for your stay with all the creature comforts you’d expect. Like 24-hour room service, nightly turndown service, a daily stateroom attendant and the fastest internet at sea. Interior staterooms include a wide array of facilities the whole family can enjoy.

Enjoy facilities for the whole family with Interior Staterooms, savour the seaside and snapshots of landscapes from shore-to-shore with an Ocean View Stateroom, claim your slice of paradise with balcony views just outside your door with a Balcony Stateroom or take advantage of extra space, more amenities and breathtaking views in a Suite.

Dining

Foodies will be spoilt for choice on Explorer of the Seas.

Chops Grille on Deck 11 is the ship's classic American steakhouse. For over a decade, the chefs here have proudly presented quality, hand-cut steaks with a fresh twist and the revamped menu brings contemporary flair to traditional steakhouse offerings. Izumi on Deck 14 is the ship’s Asian-inspired dining experience. From delicious nigiri to fresh sashimi, Izumi is the hottest sushi spot at sea with incredible flavours from Tohoku to Tokyo. Every meal at Giovanni’s Table is a family-style celebration of rustic Italian flavour. Located on Deck 4, the mouthwatering menu offers Old World classics like focaccia served with marinated artichokes, olives and pesto and traditional risotto with porcini and truffle mushroom tapenade.

Since 1896, Johnny Rockets has been serving up exquisite American fare. Located on Deck 12, Johnny Rockets' menu features fresh, made-to-order hamburgers, sides, desserts and shakes. Speaking of shakes, you can mix and match two milkshake flavours to make your own unique drink. Hershey’s chocolate and Oreo cookies and cream, anyone? Want to savour a meal in the comfort of your stateroom? We don’t blame you - especially after a fun-filled day exploring in port! Luckily, room service is available on Explorer of the Seas all day, every day. Enjoy an intimate date night on your balcony, tuck into breakfast in bed or grab a quick bite to eat for lunch, all in your relaxing cabin.

Entertainment

From fun for all the family to adults-only evenings, there are endless ways to spend your days aboard Explorer of the Seas. Surfs up on FlowRider, the 12-metre-long surf simulator on Deck 13. Grab your board and get ready for 100,000 litres of rushing water heading your way. Will you carve like a pro or just try to stay upright? From one thrill-seeking activity to another, The Perfect Storm offers the boldest water slides at sea. From dual races to the first boomerang-style and head-first mat racer water slides at sea, will you be brave enough to take on this twisting adventure?

Afraid of heights? This one might not be for you. Situated on Deck 13, the signature Rock Climbing Wall takes you 12 metres above deck and offers the most spectacular views. Whether you’re a rock-climbing beginner or a seasoned climber, this complimentary activity doesn’t require reservations so you can visit the view again and again.

While each of Explorer of the Seas’ 15 decks is filled with thrills for the whole family, there are plenty of ways for parents to indulge in some off-duty fun. Why not head to the adults-only Solarium on Deck 11? Be greeted with stunning sea views as you relax below the crystal canopy, allow your stresses to float away in one of the many whirlpools or enjoy the soothing sounds of the cascading lagoons.

There is one thing that’s certain on a Royal Caribbean cruise and that’s that the entertainment is neverending. Every Explorer of the Seas sailing features original productions in the ship’s beautiful theatres. Amazing vocalists and dancers deliver rousing performances wrapped up in stunning sets and transcendent multimedia productions. 40 years in the making, Can’t Stop the Rock takes to the stage with popular music from films old and new. Covering everything from Elvis Presley to Whitney Houston, this rousing tribute pays homage to rock and roll in film.
