Overview of Brazil

Brazil, officially the Federative Republic of Brazil, is the largest country in both South America and Latin America. Founded in the 16th century, Brazil covers roughly half of South America’s land mass and borders all other countries in the continent except Ecuador and Chile.

Cidade Maravihosa, or The Marvellous City, Rio de Janeiro is famous for its colourful carnival, fabulous beaches and historical sights. Rio Carnival is a spectacle like no other. Streets lined with music, feathered dancing, samba schools and floats adorned in treasures can all be witnessed by the millions of people who flock to the streets every year. A long-standing celebration that takes place before lent commences, it’s a tradition that’s been celebrated since 1840.

A city buzzing with life, São Paulo is not to be missed. Fast becoming one of Brazil’s most popular tourist destinations, São Paulo is known for its delicious food, vibrant culture and incredible nightlife. While here, make sure to visit the city’s innumerable art-house cinemas and experimental theatres, as well as the world-renowned smart bistros and gourmet restaurants.

Made up of three settlements (Ossos, Manguinhos and Armação de Búzios) on the same peninsula, Búzios has a lot to give. Littered with boutiques, fine dining restaurants, villas and bars, it is one of Brazil’s most upscale and animated seaside resorts. During your cruise to Brazil, you must take advantage of the water activities Búzios has to offer. Snorkel, scuba dive and even fish off the crystal clear waters of one of the city’s 17 beaches.
