Overview of the United Arab Emirates

The United Arab Emirates, or simply the Emirates, is a country in Western Asia. It is located at the eastern end of the Arabian Peninsula and shares borders with Oman and Saudi Arabia. Abu Dhabi is the nation’s capital, while Dubai, the most populous city, is an international hub.

With sky-high futuristic architecture and vibrant nightlife, Dubai really is like something out of a sci-fi movie. The shopping capital of the world, Dubai is home to several immense shopping malls, including the world-famous Dubai Mall, which is outfitted with a range of high-fashion brand stores as well as an aquarium, underwater zoo, Reel Cinema, VR Park and even a traditional Souk.

As well as being home to the tallest building in the world, Dubai also boasts several manmade islands - the most popular and advanced being Palm Jumeirah. This palm tree-shaped oasis is a hub of luxury, offering glamorous beach clubs, 5-star resorts and high-end brunch spots. If you’re looking for adventure, look no further, you can also swim with sharks, go skydiving or even jet off on a 9-minute speedboat ride.

Unlike a lot of places in the world, Abu Dhabi offers a look into Middle Eastern culture that you won’t find anywhere else. This unique destination offers glimpses into the future while also exhibiting its rich history through ancient Arabian architecture and grand landmarks. Hit the shops and bag a bargain or soak up the sun on one of Abu Dhabi’s white sand beaches.

If you’re looking to take some time out from the bright lights and splendour, find some balance in Abu Dhabi’s Mangrove National Park, 19-square kilometres of open air, birds, marine life and mangrove trees. With over 60 species of birds and plenty of water activities to dive into, there’s lots to keep you entertained while experiencing the United Arab Emirates' natural riches.
