Can I smoke while onboard?

Most ships have designated smoking areas onboard. This ensures the comfort and safety of all passengers and your cooperation is very much appreciated. Please check with your cruise line for more information.

Are gratuities included in the cost of my cruise?

Most cruise lines do not include gratuities in the cost of your cruise. However, this can vary depending on the type of cruise you have booked and with which cruise line. For more information on your chosen cruise line’s policy, please ask at the time of booking so we can advise you further.

Are transfers included in the cost of my cruise?

Transfers are usually included in the cost of your cruise. However, if they’re not and you would like assistance with arranging transfers, please call us on 0800 121 6191 and we will be happy to help.

Can I do laundry onboard?

Most ships have a payable laundry service available - please check your individual ships' facilities or ask at the time of booking.

Will I have access to the internet onboard?

Yes, as well as access to email providers. Please check with your cruise line for more information about internet packages and charges before you travel and confirm which options are available as this may change depending on location and cruise line operator.

Is there Duty-Free onboard?

In accordance with legislation, only alcohol purchased onboard can be consumed onboard and any purchases of alcohol made whilst ashore will be securely stored by the ship crew until the end of your cruise. There is no limit on Duty-Free goods when you’re returning to the UK from an EU country so long as it's for your own personal use.

What dining times are available?

You can relax and eat what you want and when you want on most ships. You will be spoilt for choice with the variety of restaurants with flexible serving times. Dining times and table sizes should have been discussed at the time of booking. If you need to discuss this in more detail, please call us on 0800 121 6191.

How do I pay for purchases whilst onboard?

You will receive a cruise card at check-in which you can charge for all purchases (refreshments, beauty treatments etc.). You will be required to settle your account before disembarking. Payment is usually accepted by all major credit and debit cards and cash.

What currency will I need when ashore?

The currency you require will depend on where you’re travelling. You can check currency requirements with your local Bureau de Change, bank or on the internet.

What if my friends or family need to contact me while I’m away?

It’s always a good idea to leave your travel details with friends and family so they can rest always knowing your travel itinerary and whereabouts. In the event of an emergency, you can ask your friends and family to call us on 0800 121 6191 and we will make every effort to contact you via the ship’s crew or hotelier.

Are cruises family-friendly?

Yes. A family cruise needs to be fun for everyone and toddlers to teenagers can look forward to a variety of activities onboard most ships. Many children’s programmes are offered for specific age groups. More information on opening hours, supervision requirements and babysitting facilities can be obtained at the time of booking or via your chosen cruise line.

How do I book beauty treatments?

Most treatments can be arranged once onboard and are chargeable. However, prices vary between cruise lines and cruise ships so please check with your cruise line before travelling.

How can I book another cruise with ROL Cruise while onboard?

Whilst onboard, you may want to take advantage of the offers and promotions available before you disembark. You can nominate ROL Cruise as your chosen agent by quoting our ABTA number, F9255. What is the luggage allowance?

As a guide only:

  • Cruise Only: 23kg maximum per suitcase but no restrictions on the number of suitcases (all suitcases must fit into your booked cabin)
  • Flight: Usually 20kg minimum per person but this is dependent on the airline and the class booked

How much money will I need to take with me?

It is advisable you ensure you have enough money to cover all eventualities. You may also want to take small amounts of local currencies and/or internationally accepted credit cards and debit cards.

Will there be a ROL Cruise Ambassador onboard my cruise?

The ROL Cruise Ambassadors can be found onboard many of our cruises. They are there to help ensure that your holiday runs as smoothly as possible. If you have questions on anything from Cruise Miles® to documentation they will try their best to help. If they’re onboard your voyage, you’ll receive a letter introducing them and advising where you’ll find them onboard.

How do I pay for onboard purchases on a Royal Caribbean cruise?

Each guest is set up with a Seapass® which is a cashless system used for all onboard purchases and services. The account may be set up with either a credit card or a cash account.

What is the dress code onboard a Royal Caribbean cruise?

When you’re onboard, the right look will vary by venue. Casual, Smart Casual and Formal are a few types of suggested attire.

What is the dress code onboard a SAGA Cruise?

The evening dress code applies from 6 pm and must be followed by all guests in the ship’s public areas for the evening. The dress code is recommended for the ambience and comfort of all guests. Details will be shown in your Daily Programme.

What is the dress code onboard a Silversea cruise?

Shipboard attire ranges from casual to formal. Casual wear is appropriate for daytime aboard the ship or ashore and consists of standard sports outfits as worn at 5-star resorts. Evening attire falls into 3 categories; casual, informal and formal.

How do I book an e-Bike on my SAGA Cruise?

You can book one of the e-bikes that are available on Spirit of Adventure and Spirit of Discovery at their Explore Ashore service desk. We recommend you book in advance. 

How many formal nights will there be on my SAGA cruise?

The number of formal nights will depend on the duration of your cruise.

Please see the breakdown below:

A cruise of 4 – 7 nights will have one formal night.

A cruise of 8 – 11 nights will have two formal nights.

A cruise of 12 – 21 nights will have three formal nights on board.

What shall I wear to a formal night with SAGA?

Formal attire will be required in all restaurants on your SAGA cruise, except in The Grill on Formal nights.

For ladies’ appropriate formal attire includes an evening gown, cocktail dress, or a dress suit.

For gentlemen, appropriate formal attire includes a suit with a tie or a dinner jacket with a bow tie.

For those who do not want to participate in formal nights, evening-casual attire can be worn in The Grill, The Playhouse Theatre, and all bars.

What is the dress code onboard a Regent Seven Seas cruise?

Yes. During the day, casual wear is appropriate for daytime both onboard and ashore. Casual wear consists of jeans, shorts, t-shirts and tennis shoes. After 6 pm, Elegant Casual is required. For ladies, this includes a skirt or slacks with a blouse or jumper, a pantsuit or dress; trousers and a collared shirt for gentlemen. Casual wear is not to be worn at dinner, except dining at the Pool Grill and on the final evening of the cruise.
